The Whale
“La Balena” or The Whale is a multidisciplinary, multi-layered show: based on a tale written by Giulio Tanasini, it sets out to stage a story through the use of music, acting, stage installation and audiovisual elements. Inspired by the profile of the Montserrat Mountain, the plot of this legend is simple: one day the population of a valley wakes up and discovers a whale lying on top of a mountain. This apparition generates several reactions that chain up to a poetic epilogue that smells of magical realism. The aim of our project is to recreate and transmit the dreamlike atmosphere of the tale in a sometimes direct, sometimes allusive way, rediscovering as a musical ensemble the almost “mystical” function of the Troubadours.
