Ballarte Ensemble

Ballarte Ensemble was founded in 2020 with the aim of exploring the scenic possibilities of baroque and contemporary music in dialog with other disciplines such as theater, dramaturgy and dance. Its interdisciplinary team consists of musicians, dancers, dramaturges, actors and actresses. In just 5 years, the ensemble has produced 10 original stage musical creations: Dream (2021), El Banquete: the musical (2021), La liberación de Francesca Caccini (2021), Sueño-verso (2022), El gran sarao del mundo (2022), Silencio en la sala que el fuego va a hablar (2023), Murmuros (2023), Transhumancias (2024), A Room of Our Own (2024), The Whale (premiered in 2025 at the Festival Cistermúsica de Alcobaça). Their works have been performed in Spain, Italy and Switzerland and supported by institutions such as the Spanish Embassy in Switzerland and the Swisslos Fonds Basel Stadt. The Ballarte Ensemble was awarded the first prize of the Young Aragonese Creators in 2021, in 2022 it was a finalist in the Rema Awards in the category “Cross-border project of the year” and in 2024 it was selected for the European artist residency program EFFEA
