
Berta Ares
Violin
Berta Ares was born in Madrid in 1994. She began her music studies at the age of 3 with the recorder, and later with the violin. She continued her official studies in Madrid, where she combined modern and baroque violin. She pursued her performance career in modern violin in Zaragoza with teachers Lina Tur Bonet and Carole Petitdemange. In 2018, she finished her studies in Basel, specializing in early music with Professor Amandine Beyer, who was a great inspiration. She completed two Master degrees covering music from the Renaissance to Romanticism at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Switzerland). She has participated in several musical projects in Spain, Norway, Italy, France, Switzerland and the United States. She currently lives in Basel, where she works regularly with different orchestras and ensembles specialised in historical performance. Always interested in interdisciplinarity in art, she is a founding member and organizer of the ensemble Acciaccatura and of the festival BallArte.

Nacho Laguna
Theorbo and Baroque Guitar
(Monzón, 1995): Trained at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, he regularly works with ensembles such as I Gemelli, Gli Incogniti, Artaserse, Les Musiciens du Louvre, La Cetra, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Pulcinella, and artists like Amandine Beyer, Philippe Jaroussky, Emiliano González Toro, Christina Pluhar, Ophélie Galliard, Olivier Fourès, Emőke Baráth, Zach Wilder, and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, embarking on intensive concert tours across Europe, America, and Asia, performing in renowned venues like Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Opéra Royal de Versailles, Tokyo Opera City, Hong Kong City Hall, Arsenal de Metz, Angers-Nantes Opéra, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Cirque Royal Brussels. He has recorded for record labels such as Aparte, Naïve, Harmonia Mundi, Mediaphore Japan, Warner Classics, and for various radio and television media like BBC Radio 3, Radio France, TV France, Medici.tv, Arte, and RTVE. In May 2023, he released his debut solo album “Ferrarese,” awarded with “5 diapasons” by the French magazine Diapason. His interest in collective artistic creation, multidisciplinarity, and his roots in the Valle de Benasque are the pillars upon which, along with a fantastic team of people and artists, he builds BallArte Festival.

Giulio Tanasini
Viola da Gamba
After a Master’s degree in Double Bass in Italy, Giulio Tanasini has been studying Viola da gamba with Paolo Pandolfo at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis since 2017. He earned his first Master of Arts in Performance in 2019 and his second Master’s degree in specialized Early Music performance in 2021. He performs regularly on both instruments throughout Europe. Giulio has occasionally worked with ensembles such as Gli Incogniti under the direction of Amandine Beyer or Il Pegaso Ensemble with Evangelina Mascardi and Alberto Rouco’s ‘Los Elementos’, or Musique des Lumierès; with whom he has performed in some of the most important halls in Europe. Since 2021 he has also been part of the Trio Acciaccatura, where together with his colleagues Berta Ares and Nacho Laguna he explores alternative forms of musical interpretation to the classical concert format. Although the ensemble was formed relatively recently, its musical offerings have already been successful in Switzerland and abroad (Spain and Italy). Since 2019, Giulio has been collaborating with composer and singer-songwriter Francesca Gaza as solo Viola da Gamba in her ensemble, which released its first CD in 2021 (“Kugelförmigkeit “). In 2022 he collaborated with the ensemble Le Sommeil, with which he performed at the famous musical season Freunde Alter Musik Basel and at the Wilanów Palace in Warsaw. Parallel to his ensemble activities, Giulio Tanasini has a solo career that has led him to develop solo programs, the most recent of which, “Le Città Invisibili”, has been invited to several festivals and musical seasons such as the Ballarte Festival (Spain, 2022), Flimsfestival (CH, 2022) and Altrisuoni (Italy, 2022), Combin en Musique (2023) and Modulazioni (2023) In 2023, he collaborates as programmer at the IV Ballarte Festival. He currently lives in Basel.

Marina Ares
Dancer
She trained as a contemporary dancer at the RCPD Mariemma (Madrid) after completing her professional dance training at Carmen Senra. In 2014, she participates in the Hip-Hop and Contemporary Dance course at Socapa school (School of Creative and Performing Arts), New York (USA). Currently, she is finishing the specialization in Contemporary Dance Pedagogy at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona. She has worked as a dancer, pedagogue and choreographer in musical groups such as Ensemble Galería and Ensemble Suma. Since 2019 she works together with Katharsis Ensemble, Ballarte Festival and Trio Acciaccatura, musical associations that work interdisciplinarity, mixing music and body movement. As well as offering body and movement training classes to all kinds of instrumentalists.

Arthur Baldensperger
Bariton and actor
Arthur Baldensperger is interested in the performing arts in a broad sense, encompassing singing, acting, and interpretation. After studying literature and arts in Paris, he earned a degree in baroque singing at the Schola Cantorum in Basel, Switzerland, and continues to refine his skills through various workshops (most recently with coach Cloé Xhauflaire at the “École du Jeu” in Paris). In 2020, he created a performance at the Basel theater combining voice and saxophone with the biblical text of the Apocalypse. Primarily drawn to live art as a means of expression, he is exploring the possibilities of text, voice, and representation to convey meaning. Since September 2022, he has been pursuing a master’s degree in medieval singing in Basel.

Gabriel Belkheiri
Tenor and recorder
He holds a double degree in recorder and historic singing from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (Netherlands), with extensive teaching and concert experience. He is a founding member of the ensembles “Ibera Auri” and “L’Ampastratta”, with which he has participated in various tours across Europe, performing at venues such as the National Archaeological Museum (MAN) in Madrid and the El Greco Museum in Toledo (as part of the MusaE project in 2017 and 2019 respectively), at the Chapel of San Miguel de los Reyes for FEVATED, and for the Renaissance Festival organized by the Cultural Foundation Capella de Ministrers, among many others. With Ibera Auri, he was awarded first prize by the jury and the audience special prize at the 7th edition of the International Early Music Competition of Gijón in 2018 and selected for the National Competition of Young Musicians of Spain in 2018 in the early music category. In 2021, he participated in the prestigious residency program “International Young Artist’s Presentation (IYAP)”, part of the early music festival AMUZ (Laus Polyphoniae) in Antwerp, directed by Peter Van Heyghen and Spanish soprano Raquel Andueza. In 2022, he was selected for the artistic residency of La Cité de la Voix in Vézelay.

Laia Blasco
Soprano and recorder
She studies recorder at the Musikhochschule in Münster (Germany) with Jérome Minis and Thomas Kügler, and baroque and renaissance singing at the Scuola Civica Claudio Abbado di Milano with Sonia Tedla, where she achieves top grades. She collaborates with different early music ensembles such as Capella de Ministrers, EGERIA, Boreas Musica, or Puy de Saint Cyr, and is the founder of the ensemble Ibera Auri, which was awarded first prize and the audience prize at the Ancient Music Festival of Gijón in July 2018. With the same ensemble, she participated in the IYAP residency program for emerging groups in Antwerp in 2021, under the guidance of Peter Van Heygen and Spanish soprano Raquel Andueza. They were also selected for the Jeunes Ensembles residencies at Cité de la Voix in Vézelay and at ECOS FESTIVAL Sierra Espuña in 2022. She is also the founder of the ensemble El Concierto Secreto alongside harpist Juliette Commeaux. They have performed at the Auditorium of León and are finalists in the Before Beethoven Early Music Competition in Valencia.
She has participated in various festivals such as the Grachten festival Amsterdam, Milano ArteMusica, Ballarte festival, FEMÁS Sevilla, MAG Granada, Festival de música religiosa de Cuenca, Quincena musical de San Sebastián, Early Music Morella, FIAS Madrid, and ELLAS CREAN, among others, and in concert series for CDNM, Juventudes Musicales de España, Filarmónica de Gijón, Società del Quartetto di Milano, Palau de la música de Valencia, and Erdbrostenhof Palace in Münster (Germany). In 2020, she received a scholarship from the German foundation Schloss Weissenbrunn Stiftung to be part of the Musikakademie, where she studied Italian diminutions from the late 16th and early 17th centuries. In 2022, she was selected for the Acadèmia de Jóvenes Intérpretes de la Música Antigua organized by the Valencian ensemble Capella de Ministrers under the direction of Carles Magraner. From that moment on, she began collaborating on different projects with the ensemble, including the recording of the CD “Sixena”.
In 2023, she released her first CD “Imperatrix Agatha” with the medieval music ensemble EGERIA, dedicated to the tropary of Catania and featuring unpublished and previously unrecorded pieces. In 2023, she participated in concerts at the Auditorium of León, the National Museum of Ceramics in Valencia, the theater in Münster (Germany), among others, and carried out an artistic residency at the Weissenbrunn Foundation with her ensemble Ibera Auri, selected as “Young Group 2023”.
Upcoming events in 2024 include performances at the Auditori de Torrent and the EARLY MUSIC MORELLA festival alongside Capella de Ministrers, at Weissenbrunn Palace (Germany) under the direction of Pia Praetorius, at the FETÉN theater festival in Gijón with the company CLAROSCVRO, and at the BALLARTE festival in Benasque.

Maria del Buey
Artist and researcher
(Madrid, 1996) Artist and researcher, her creative work focuses on questioning globalization, ecology, and human and non-human identities, through writing, performance, and sound installation and digital visual objects. In 2020, she graduated from the Master program in Art in the Contemporary World at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, and has collaborated as co-director of the platform and gallery Catalyst Arts, based in Belfast (2021); with Medialab-Prado (2019); and with the Instituto Cervantes Dublin (2021), where she exhibited her solo debut The Zone. In 2022, she co-created the artistic research project Transterile with Stefania Assandri. She has also curated the participation of the Spanish Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art Association (AMEE) in the first edition of the Listening Biennial (2021), and her theoretical and artistic work was featured in the latest edition of the IN-SONORA festival (2022) thanks to the support of CentroCentro (Madrid). She has participated in projects such as Collective Practices of Uncertainty (Rebecca Collins, July 2022), Party Studies (AMEE, ENSEMS Festival 2022), and since December 2022, she has been a member of the board of the Spanish Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art Association and the Research Group in Ecological Humanities (GHECO). Her written work has also been published in international media such as Critical Bastards Magazine and by the Instituto Cervantes, and she has participated in group exhibitions at the Goethe-Institut Ireland (2019, 2020), Ormstone House in Limerick (2020), and Temple Bar Gallery + Studios (2020), among others.

Irene Doher
Actress and singer
Actress, singer, creator, and educator. She graduated in Textual Interpretation from RESAD (2014) and holds a degree in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2010).
As a creator and performer, she has been involved in the following projects: Livianas Provincianas, in productions such as: Mírame (co-production with Teatro Español 2023), La Fruta más sabrosa (Naves de Matadero 2022), and Es mi hombre; Engrandecer la Nada (Festival de Otoño, 2020); [Los Números Imaginarios] in productions like Auto sacramental de la Vida es Sueño (Teatro de la Comedia, 2023), Lear: desaparecer (Teatros del Canal, 2019), Hijos de Grecia (Festival de Otoño, 2019), La última noche de Don Juan, and Hamlet entre todos.
As an interpreter, she has excelled in works such as: Sollertinsky (Becuadro producciones, 2023), Solo un metro de distancia (Serena Producciones, 2020. Award for Best Supporting Actress at the Garnacha de Haro Festival, 2022). La Habitación de Laurencia (Casa Museo de Lópe de Vega), Justo antes del Aleteo (Cuarta Pared, 2019), 4,2, by Viviseccionados, Muerte del Apetito by La Finea Teatro (international tour with Instituto Cervantes), Shoot, Get Treasure, Repeat (Frinje 2015), and ¡Ay Amor! Mathilde Genas

I started in music playing the clarinet and listening to all kinds of music. Today I am a sound engineer and artistic director of musical recordings. I work with record labels and musicians for the production of albums (from baroque repertoire to contemporary music), as well as concert recordings. I especially enjoy accompanying projects and musicians with good understanding and a true spirit of collaboration.

Jaume Guri
Violin
Jaume Guri Batlle began his studies in Badalona with Marta García and continued at ESMUC with Vera Martínez. Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s in Performance with Rainer Schmidt, Barbara Doll, and Amandine Beyer in Basel.
He is a member of the “Bärhof Ensemble” and participates in festivals such as “Músics en residencia Alella,” “Barcelona Obertura,” “Festival de Torroella,” “Hohenstaufen Chamber Festival,” among others. He has studied chamber music with the Cuarteto Casals, Kennedy Moretti, and Anton Kernjak.
In 2018, he made his debut as a soloist at the Auditorio de Barcelona with the ESMUC orchestra, and in 2022 with the Kammerorchester Basel. A member of the JONC for ten years, he also collaborates with orchestras and ensembles such as “Gli Incogniti,” “Mahler Chamber Orchestra,” and “Musique des Lumières.” Since 2020, he has been collaborating with the Malpelo company.

Giulia Manfredini
Violin
Giulia Manfredini is a student of Baroque violin at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, studying under Leila Schayegh. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in pedagogy. She was a student of Olivia Centurioni. Before focusing on historical performance, she trained as a violinist with Paolo Ardinghi and graduated with honors from the G. Verdi Conservatory of Turin, where she studied under Sergio Lamberto. She has attended masterclasses in Baroque violin with Rachel Podger and Pablo Valetti, among others, as well as masterclasses in modern violin with Pavel Vernikov, Alessandro Cappone, and Adrian Pinzaru.
Her piano trio, the Trío Isabel, was awarded at the Crescendo Prize in Florence and the Luigi Nono Competition. She has worked with ensembles such as La Cetra Barockorchester, Ensemble Il Profondo, Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, and Teatro Regio di Torino. Giulia has performed at festivals such as the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik and Freunde Alter Musik Basel. She regularly engages in teaching activities. As a violinist, she has collaborated on shows for Cirko Vertigo and recently participated in puppet theater performances with the duo L’Art du Temps.

Ana Nicolás
Percussions
Native of Salamanca, she began her musical journey as a pianist until the age of ten when she started receiving private percussion lessons. She combined both specialties during her university studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Salamanca. After completing her piano studies, she decided to focus on classical percussion while specializing in the traditional repertoire of her hometown under Mara Cañizal. This opened the door to Renaissance repertoire under the tutelage of Fernando Serrano, a professor of plucked string instruments from the Renaissance and Baroque periods at the Professional Conservatory of Salamanca. She has recently completed her higher studies in historical percussion and a master’s degree in the interpretation and research of ancient music at the Superior School of Music of Catalonia with Pedro Estevan as her teacher. She has been a solo timpanist and orchestral percussionist in various ensembles such as Collegium 1704 or the Concert de Nations. She has participated annually in the BallArte Festival and the first edition of Generación SMADE. As a percussionist, she has accompanied the Camerata Iberia, Concerto Italiano, Coral Annuba, Badalonense, Capilla de Santa María del Pi, Res Poliphonica, as well as Alba Asensi, Janson Priset, Jonathan Stuchbery, and Jaime González-Sierra. She is currently a member of Sonorum Mare, Pretérito Imperfecto, Plebeyos Bailes, and leads her own project focusing on unknown authorship with her group Cayreles.

Paula Perez
Violin
Paula studies both baroque and modern violin at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague with Kati Debretzeni, Walter Reiter, and Theodora Geraets. She pursued two master’s degrees at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland, specializing in repertoire from the Renaissance to the Romantic period with Amandine Beyer, and in medieval vielle with Baptiste Romaine. As a member of the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, she is regularly invited by numerous European ensembles such as the Netherlands Bach Society, the interdisciplinary group Geneva Camerata, and the ensemble Nereydas. Paula has performed as a chamber musician at various festivals across Europe, Asia, and America, and has conducted masterclasses at the National Conservatory of Jakarta (Indonesia) and the University of Mexico City. Additionally, she holds a degree in Art History from UNED and is currently specializing in the same university in a Master’s program on Heritage Conservation.

Melina Perlein
Harp and Soprano
Harpist and soprano Mélina Perlein-Féliers, born in Lille, has felt a passion for the stage and performing arts since her childhood. She began her musical training as a child, learning harp, recorder, and clarinet, and eventually, singing. She studied literature and theater arts theory at university while also studying acting and singing at the Conservatoire de Lille. She then pursued stage design and costume design at the National School of Visual Arts La Cambre in Brussels before ultimately deciding on music, particularly early music and historical performance. She studied historical harps with Angélique Mauillon and Renaissance singing with Véronique Bourin at the Conservatoire de Tours, and entered the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in 2019.
During her Bachelor studies, she focused on historical harps with Heidrun Rosenzweig and singing with Katarina Livljanic. She continues her studies in baroque harp with Flora Papadopoulos and singing with Ulrike Hofbauer. As a basso continuo instrumentalist, she has performed with orchestras such as the Staatskapelle Halle under the direction of René Jacobs, and the Compagnie la Tempête. She plays and sings a repertoire spanning several centuries, from early medieval harp to Italian baroque harp, enjoying the resonance of gut strings as well as accompanying singers and instrumentalists as a continuo player, or the lush sound of ancient pedal harps. She is a founding member of the young medieval music ensemble Rubens Rosa.

Irene Serrano
Actress
Irene Serrano is an actress, holding a degree in Textual Interpretation from the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático in Madrid and in Audiovisual Communication from UCM. She furthered her training at Teatro de la Abadía, under the guidance of Jose Luis Gómez, Vicente Fuentes, Ernesto Arias, Lidia Otón, among others, and with professionals such as Carles Alfaro, Fabio Mangolini, Andrés Lima, Roberta Carreri, and more. She has worked for the Centro Dramático Nacional in “Supernormales,” directed by Iñaki Rikarte, and “La tumba de María Zambrano,” directed by Jana Pacheco. She has played leading roles for the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico in productions such as “La señora y la criada,” directed by Miguel del Arco; “La vida es sueño,” directed by Helena Pimenta; and “El desdén con el desdén,” directed by Iñaki Rikarte. She has also been part of the cast in “La gran Cenobia” and “En otro reino extraño,” directed by David Boceta; and “El burlador de Sevilla,” directed by Josep María Mestres. With the company Nao d’amores, she has performed in productions like “Numancia,” “Nise, la tragedia de Inés de Castro,” “Comedia Aquilana,” and “Triunfo de Amor,” all directed by Ana Zamora. Irene is a member of the Ensemble of the company [los números imaginarios], under the direction of Carlos Tuñón, with which she has premiered works like “La última noche de Don Juan” (Clásicos en Alcalá), “Hijos de Grecia” (Festival de Otoño), and “Lear (desaparecer).” Currently, she is on tour with “La vida es sueño,” directed by Declan Donnellan (Cheek by Jowl, La Zona, CNTC).

Luis Sorolla
Actor and Playwright
Luis Sorolla is a theatrical creator, playwright, actor, director, and producer born and based in Madrid. He is the founder of the production company Esto Podría Ser and a stable member of the company Los Números Imaginarios (directed by Carlos Tuñón), where he works as an actor, playwright, and creator. During the 22/23 season, he served as the resident playwright at the Centro Dramático Nacional, for whom he wrote “Los muertos vivientes.” He holds a degree in Textual Interpretation from RESAD and has completed his training with numerous industry professionals such as Lucía Carballal, Pablo Messiez, and Ella Hickson, among others, and at institutions like the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London or Kosmos in Movement (KiM) in Berlin. As a playwright, he has written and created several pieces, including: “Una puesta en escena de La Revolución,” “Los Precursores,” “El Terror,” “Los muertos vivientes,” “La vida es sueño: El Auto Sacramental” (by Los Números Imaginarios, Teatro de la Comedia), “El evangelio según Segismundo,” “La Gran Cenobia” (a version of Calderón de la Barca’s work for CNTC), “Quijotes y Sanchos” (an immersive piece for Los Números Imaginarios), “En Otro Reino Extraño” (for CNTC based on texts by Lope de Vega), and “Leviatán” (a solo piece for a single spectator). As an actor, he has performed in numerous theatrical productions, including “Una puesta en escena de La Revolución,” “Play!,” “El Mal de la Montaña,” “Interior:Día,” “Oveja Perdida Ven Sobre Mis Hombros,” “Telémaco: El que lucha a distancia,” “Un Roble,” “Lear (desaparecer),” “Hijos de Grecia,” “Un Cuerpo en Algún Lugar,” and “Vacíate los Bolsillos” (by David Greig), among others. As a director, he has helmed productions such as “Huérfanos,” “Una puesta en escena de La revolución,” “Los Precursores” (written by himself), and the piece “(contento) Aquí estás, (indiferente) Aquí estamos, (triste) Aquí estoy.” In 2018, he founded Esto Podría Ser, a production company specializing in staging and translating texts of contemporary foreign drama and in creating original pieces. Additionally, he has been working as a translator of contemporary theatrical texts for 13 years, serving as a dramaturge for both training centers and theatrical productions. Currently, he also works as a professor at ESAD de Valladolid, within the departments of dramaturgy and stage direction.

Alba Segovia
Light technician
Alba Segovia Ruiz (Madrid, 1996) is a lighting technician and designer. She holds a degree in Philosophy from the Autonomous University of Madrid, specialising in Aesthetics and Art Theory (2021). Her initial interest in painting and the performing arts led her to discover lighting as her medium of expression and the central focus of her professional career.
She has participated in several theatre tours, including Viva la Pepa (2022–2024), Las que Gritan (2024–2025), and Clitemnestra (2024). She also collaborates regularly with the Ensemble Ballarte, a company with which she has designed and adapted works for different architectural spaces, such as Transhumancias (2025), presented in Basel (Switzerland). Her work also extends to the field of contemporary circus and projects by independent companies and creators.
She develops her practice from an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses theatre, dance, music, and circus arts.

Giovanna Baviera
Viola da Gamba
The Italian-Irish musician Giovanna Baviera was born in Luxembourg. She first studied
musicology at Trinity College Dublin: in 2011 she came to Basel to study viola da gamba with Paolo Pandolfo at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she completed her Master’s degree in 2016. In order to pursue her interest in the historical art of self-accompaniment on the viola da gamba, she studied singing parallel to her studies.
She is active as a gambist and singer with various ensembles (Concerto di Margherita, Profeti della Quinta and Voces Suaves among others). Her concert activities have taken her to various international festivals and concert halls, including the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, Festival Ambronay, Trigonale York Early Music Festival etc. In February 2024 she released her first solo recording solo recording Soloindue, a program dedicated to the art of singing to the viola da gamba, published by Albus Fair Editions. published by Albus Fair Editions.

Bianca Cucini
Viola da Gamba
Bianca Cucini was born in Florence in 2001 and began her musical at the age of four with piano and at the age of seven with viola da gamba at the viola da gamba at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, where she was a student of Bettina Hoffmann until 2019. Since 2020, she has been studying in Basel with Paolo Pandolfo at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she will complete a Master’s degree in Musical Performance. Currently she mainly performs in Switzerland (Erasmus Klingt Festival, Les Riches Heures de Valére Sion Festival) and in Germany (International Handel Festival Göttingen, Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival, Fel!x Festival Kölner Philharmonie) but also in Italy, Spain (Festival Contratemps di San Cugat – Barcelona), France, Belgium (Brussels Early Music Festival FestiVita!), the Czech Republic, Austria Republic, Austria (Innsbrucker Festwochen) and Lithuania. With her various ensembles ensembles, she won the Sanssouci Competition in Potsdam in 2023 and the audience prize at the Handel Competition in Göttingen in 2024 and first prize at the at the Biagio Marini Competition in Neuburg. She works with baroque ensembles such as Gli Incogniti, Voces Suaves, Theatro dei Cervelli and Concerto Scirocco. Recently Bianca gave three concerts in Switzerland as a gambist with Gli Incogniti and Amandine Beyer.

Hojin Kwon
Recorder
Hojin Kwon began her musical journey in Busan, South Korea. After completing her bachelor’s degree at the Korea National University of Arts, Hojin continued her studies at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Conrad Steinmann. There she completed her artistic and pedagogical studies with a focus on early music with the highest distinction.
As a soloist, Hojin has claimed several prizes in international competitions, including 2nd prize and the audience prize at the prestigious MA Competition in Bruges 2021 and 2nd prize at the Moeck/SRP Solo Recorder Playing Competition in London 2019. In addition to solo performances, she is actively involved in projects with her ensembles Sonorità, Tourterelles and Las Lunas. Her passion extends across early and contemporary music. She enjoys collaborating with various composers, exploring sound aesthetics and constantly discovering new possibilities for her instrument.
Hojin currently teaches at the Musikschule Konservatorium Zürich. She is also interested in the role the body plays in music-making and is taking part in a CAS in Music Physiology at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste to deepen her knowledge on the subject.

Maya Webne-Behrman
Violin
Maya Webne-Behrman is an American violinist and multi-instrumentalist who specializes in medieval and classical specialized in historical string instruments of the medieval and classical periods. Maya regularly plays Baroque violin, viola, medieval fiddle and viola da gamba; she is a sought-after chamber and orchestral chamber and orchestral musician and soloist. Maya performs throughout Europe and America. She has performed in exciting venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and also on a mountain top in the Pyrenees. Maya has performed with artists such as Leila Schayegh, Jörg-Andreas Bötticher, René Jacobs, Václav Luks, Rachel Podger, ARTEK and Holland Baroque. Holland Baroque. Maya received her bachelor’s degree in violin with a major in voice from the University of Wiscon-Madison. She holds two master’s degrees in historical performance practice for baroque violin from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and a minor in degree in Renaissance Studies and is currently studying with Amandine Beyer and Baptist Baptist.
